Zooey Deschanel to release clothing line with designer Tommy Hilfiger

Zooey Deschanel is bringing her quirky style to a Macy’s near you.

The New Girl star has partnered with Tommy Hilfiger to create a 16-piece clothing collection called “To Tommy, From Zooey,” which is scheduled to arrive in stores this spring.

Items like coats and peek-a-boo print dresses will be priced between $98 and $199.

Several pieces combine ’60s mod silhouettes with color-blocking and nautical accents, a look the actress describes as “Modical.” According to a release from Hilfiger’s press team, the line “captures the buoyant attitude of the sixties, the decade in which Hilfiger made his fashion debut and from which Deschanel borrows her doe-eyed look.” READ FULL STORY

Who will be the best dressed TV actress at the Golden Globes? POLL

EW’s Melissa Maerz and Jeff Jensen have shared their predictions for the Golden Globes TV categories, but who will win the red carpet?

To narrow down the field I chose five of the most consistently stylish nominees.

Best supporting actress nominee Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) always (always, always) brings the sex appeal, so it’s safe to assume that she’ll wear something sequined that shows off her curves. Nominated for her role in a made-for-TV movie, 68-year-old Helen Mirren (Phil Spector) gives younger stars a run for their money on the red carpet. What if best actress nominee Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) and her co-host Tina Fey tie for best dressed? As for best actress nominee Kerry Washington (Scandal) … I mean, come on, she’s Kerry Washington, of course she’ll look amazing. Zooey Deschanel’s (New Girl) hit-or-miss style makes her one of tonight’s red carpet wild card contenders.

Mindy Kaling's 'Elle' cover: Where's her body?

One of these things is not like the other.

Elle has released four covers for the February “Women in Television” issue, including Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler, New Girl‘s Zooey Deschanel, and Girls‘ Allison Williams in full-body shots. However, it is Mindy Kaling’s cover that is stirring some controversy because it only features a close-up of her face.

Though still a beautiful shot, some are now comparing the cover to Melissa McCarthy’s coat cover back in October. A similar incident also happened with the magazine’s 25th anniversary issue back in 2010 when Gabourey Sidibe, Megan Fox, Lauren Conrad, and Amanda Seyfried appeared on separate covers. Fox, Conrad, and Seyfried were featured in full-length photos, but Sidibe’s image was framed as a head-and-shoulders shot.

Kaling took to Twitter to respond and promote her full body of work at the same time.

'New Girl': Jess' top 5 style moments

At the beginning of season 2 of Fox’s New Girl, costume designer Deb McGuire told EW that Jess (Zooey Deschanel) would be dressing sexier, thanks in part to her blossoming relationship with Nick (Jake Johnson).

While we did see a few hemlines rise — and a couple of necklines plunge — McGuire stuck to the mix of vintage finds, pieces from preppy brands like J. Crew and Kate Spade, and over-the-top costumes that are the hallmark of Jess’s adorkable signature style.

Follow along as we count down Jess’ top five style moments from season 2. READ FULL STORY

'New Girl' finale: Details on Taylor Swift's guest-star style

On the May 14 season finale of New Girl, Taylor Swift makes an appearance as Elaine, a guest at Cece (Hannah Simone) and Shivrang’s (Satya Bhabha) wedding.

What brings Elaine to the nuptials? That’s a closely guarded secret, but New Girl costume designer Deb McGuire did tell EW what Swift’s character wears to the wedding…and why.

'New Girl' costume designer explains why Jess's style has gotten a lot sexier lately

Last year, New Girl costume designer Deb McGuire told EW that Jess’ (Zooey Deschanel) look was going to get a whole lot sexier in season two. She wasn’t kidding.

From wearing lower-cut necklines to walking around in her bra, Jess has been less adorkable and more provocative lately.

What’s with the sexy wardrobe makeover?

“I’m really just following the lead of the writers,” says McGuire. “As you know from the storyline, there seems to be more sensuality and sexuality going on, and that will continue as the season develops.”

McGuire still scours vintage stores to dress Jess, only now she keeps an eye out for sexier pieces.

How is Deschanel is handling the increased exposure? “She is an actor, so she’s going to wear what bests suits her character. If it requires [wearing sexier clothes], that’s where she’s at,” McGuire explains. “There are ways to play with this [new look] that are definitely part of Jess’ character.”

Jess may be exploring some tighter silhouettes, but McGuire says she doesn’t intend to change her look completely. (Translation: We haven’t seen the last of those retro dresses.)

Golden Globes 2013 Fashion Face-Off: Who was the red hottest? -- POLL

From left: Jennifer Lawrence, Claire Danes, Marion Cotillard, Zooey Deschanel, Jennifer Garner and Naomi Watts.

There were many shades of red at the Golden Globes.

Jennifer Lawrence did her duty as the face of Dior, wearing a coral A-line dress with a cone-cupped bodice. Zooey Deschanel chose a similar silhouette, but her cherry red Oscar de la Renta gown was more sweetheart than siren.

Marion Cotillard’s asymmetrical Dior dress was a brilliant blood orange — one of the few short frocks we saw — while Claire Danes showed off her killer post-baby figure in a fire engine red Atelier Versace gown.

Jennifer Garner and Naomi Watts took the tone even darker. Garner glittered in a strapless burgundy gown by Vivienne Westwood Couture, Watts chose an elegant oxblood dress by designer Zac Posen.
