Sarah Jessica Parker discusses her shoe line...which includes 'The Carrie'

Sarah Jessica Parker may just go to a shoe store today and wistfully exclaim, “Hello, Loverrrrr!” at a pair of strappy stilettos. Only this time, they’ll be her own creation.

The once and future Carrie Bradshaw’s inevitable shoe line, SJP, hits Nordstrom this week. The shoes are designed with George Malkemus, CEO of Manolo Blahnik, and run in the $300 range.

The actress spoke with the Associated Press about the project and explained why now — 10 years after the show ended its original HBO run — was the right time to get into the shoe business. “I was very kindly being offered a lot of opportunities in the shoe category and I kept rejecting them,” Parker explained. “And I couldn’t figure out why. … And I was sitting with some women friends of mine and they said to me, ‘What is it?’ And I said, ‘Well, I know it’s not going to be the shoe that I want it to be.’ And I said that really my dream partner is George Malkemus. And they said, ‘Have you asked him?'” READ FULL STORY

'Wrecking Ball' Miley Cyrus isn't totally naked -- she's wearing shoes

MILEY-CYRUS-NAKED.jpg

When it comes to dressing — or rather, undressing — for performances, album covers, and music videos, Miley Cyrus certainly knows how to upstage herself.

She has an affinity for over-sized teddy bear backpacks and foam fingers and she really hates wearing pants, but in the just-released video for “Wrecking Ball,” Cyrus gives new meaning to the term “stripped-down single” when she sheds her wife beater and tighty whities to perch atop a wrecking ball in the buff.

Still, reports that she’s completely naked are, technically, not true. Stop trying to catch a glimpse of her naughty parts, look down at her feet, and read on for the details.  READ FULL STORY

Sarah Jessica Parker is launching her own fashion label (and there's a Manolo Blahnik connection)

Talk about perfect timing. Yesterday, on what was the 15th anniversary of the premiere of Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker announced that she’s got a fashion line in the works.

“I really hope people like it. We’ll see,” Parker told Footwear News of her SJP label, which will hit the shelves at Nordstrom early next year.

For her inaugural collection, Parker focused on footwear, no surprise considering that as the well-heeled Carrie Bradshaw she helped turn Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin into household names. “Because I got to play that role, I wore a lot of shoes, and by default I learned an enormous amount,” the actress told Vogue. “It’s hard to – no pun intended – walk away from that.” Parker’s business partner is George Malkemus, who is the CEO of Manolo Blahnik.

The Spring 2014 line will include 35 to 40 styles of flats and high heels priced between $200 and $300. “I have to know that we’re producing shoes I’m going to wear,” Parker told FN. “I’m not going to try and sell someone shoes that aren’t going to be good enough for me to wear myself.” But wait, didn’t Parker say she’d sworn off heels?
