A 'Project Runway All Stars' winner is crowned -- Did the judges make the right choice? POLL

Seth Aaron Henderson made Project Runway history last night when he was crowned the winner of Project Runway All Stars season three.

The self-taught designer beat out fellow finalists Korto Momolu and Elena Slyvniak, to become the first designer to win both Project Runway (season seven) and Project Runway All Stars. Among the spoils of his victory: his own QVC fashion collection, a fashion spread and contributing editor title at Marie Claire magazine, an all-expenses paid trip for two to South East Asia, a cash prize of $150,000, and a complete custom sewing studio.

On last night’s finale, Henderson’s final collection — inspired by his Spanish heritage and created in just four days with a budget of $2,000 — helped him lock up a majority vote from host Alyssa Milano, judges Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman, mentor Zanna Roberts Rassi, and guest judges Gayle King and Zac Posen.

'Project Runway All Stars' Finale: Family-inspired fashion and a styling disaster

“You will always be All Stars, but there can only be one winner,” host Alyssa Milano warns in the teaser for tonight’s Project Runway All Stars finale. It’s finally down to the top three — Seth Aaron Henderson, Korto Momulu, and Elena Slivnyak — so who will earn Runway immortality?

The outlook isn’t good for one contestant. “The pants don’t fit!” barks judge Issac Mizrahi in a promo video from Lifetime. “The whole thing is a styling disaster!”

Tonight the contestants visit the United Nations, where they’re tasked with creating a seven-piece collection inspired by their family history. The catch? One ensemble must be made completely out of scarves. Oprah BFF Gayle King and designer Zac Posen serve as guest judges.

Watch a sneak peek of tonight’s Project Runway All Stars finale after the jump.

A naked billboard, a celebrity in blackface, and more of 2013's biggest fashion faux pas

The fashion world had plenty of high moments this year, but let’s face it, it’s more fun to reminisce about the lowest low moments.

Luckily, there were plenty of fashion faux pas committed in 2013.

From Elle magazine’s Melissa McCarthy cover-up to the Jay-Z and Barneys backlash, and Julianne Hough’s regrettable Halloween costume, read on to see the style headlines that got people talking… and not in a good way.

'Project Runway All Stars': Marge Simpson gets a fashion makeover -- VIDEO

For more than 20 years Marge Simpson has worn the same outfit — strapless green dress, red pearls, and matching flats — but the animated housewife is getting all dolled up on tonight’s Project Runway All Stars.

The seven remaining contestants on the fashion reality series are tasked with creating a new frock for Marge to wear for a night out on the town with her longtime love Homer. The big reveal will happen on tonight’s All Stars and the winning design will also appear on a future episode of The Simpsons.

“Normally I have one simple fashion philosophy. Find a dress that looks good on you and wear it every day for the rest of your life,” Marge jokes before instructing the designers to create a frock in any color but green. “Also, there might be some snuggling after dinner, so Homer requests that the dress be easy enough to remove after he’s had several glasses of wine and a secret six pack of beer.”

Marge will be joined by special guests Abigail Breslin, Anthony Ryan (All Stars season 2 winner), and Alice+Olivia designer Stacey Bendet. In honor of the occasion, host Alyssa Milano, mentor Zanna Roberts Rassi, and judges Georgina Chapman and Isaac Mizrahi got the cartoon treatment. (See the photo above.)

Alyssa Milano on 'Project Runway All Stars,' her clothing line, and what Samantha Micelli would be doing today

At the premiere party for season three of Project Runway All Stars in New York City last night, new host Alyssa Milano talked about joining the reality competition series, her background in fashion, and why, if Who’s the Boss was still on the air today, Samantha Micelli might have forged a career in the apparel industry.

“Harvey Weinstein saw an episode of Fashion Police that I co-hosted and decided that I would be a good fit for All Stars, which is bizarre on so many levels,” Milano — who joins designer judges Georgina Chapman (wife of Harvey Weinstein) and Isaac Mizrahi — told EW of being recruited by the  show’s executive producer. “[I’ve been a] huge fan of the show… which is scary because I know how amazing Heidi is, but I went into it trying to not pretend to be anyone else and just do my thing.”

Aside from her guest gig on Fashion Police, Milano has experience in the industry, having launched her own sportswear company in 2007. “I have the licensing for all the leagues; MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, college, and NASCAR. It’s pretty cool,” she said of her second career as a designer. Does that mean we can expect a sports-inspired challenge on this season of All StarsREAD FULL STORY

Sneak Peek: Kaley Cuoco is this week's 'Project Runway' guest judge

This week’s episode of Project Runway has something for fans of The Big Bang Theory – actress Kaley Cuoco serves as a guest judge on the reality fashion competition.

“I’m thrilled to be here as a judge on Project Runway,” Cuocu gushes in a behind-the-scenes video. “It’s one of my favorite shows. It’s wild to watch it for so many years and then go into the actual room and see the runway. It’s crazy.”

A teaser clip from Lifetime also promises that this week’s challenge will involve “some sole searching,” as the designer contestants are tasked with creating a look inspired by footwear from the fashion closet at Marie Claire magazine. “Many women say it’s the most important fashion accessory of all,” muses Tim Gunn. “Shoes!” The designers then face off in a fashion pop quiz that determines the order in which they get to pick a pair of shoes.

Click on to see what Cuoco says were her criteria for guest judging the top 10. Bonus clip: Do you know what inspired Christian Louboutin’s signature red soles? Watch the second video for the answer.  READ FULL STORY

'Project Runway' designers see an angry Tim Gunn -- VIDEO

This week’s unconventional challenge brings forth a more unconventional side of Tim Gunn. The typically calm and nurturing Project Runway style mentor reveals a more frustrated moment during consultations in Thursday’s new episode. But the stylistically rational Tim is justified in wearing his sassy pants into the workroom.

In this exclusive clip, we can see that a multi-look group challenge awaits the remaining designers, with yet another unconventional materials challenge on their hands (parachutes, carnival game prizes, bow ties—enough already). Tim stops by Ken, Alexandria, and Sue’s station to find Sue constructing a garment out of black curtains, a fabric that could have been just as easily purchased at Mood.

“This makes me sick,” Tim says, warning the group that they may have just thrown the whole challenge.

'Project Runway' exit interview: Eliminated designer on Helen's tears, and a stylish Kickstarter project

SPOILER ALERT: If you don’t want to know who was eliminated on the first episode of Project Runway season 12, stop reading now.

The second episode of Project Runway season 12 was over-the-top with glamor and emotion. When the dust settled, it was the calm-spirited Kahindo Mateene who was sent packing.

The Congo-native took a risk with her fabric selection for the challenge — to create an ensemble that was worthy of wearing with diamonds and other precious gems — and the judges were underwhelmed by her understated cocktail dress. But this is not the last we will see of Mateene, who has multiple exciting fashion plans already in the works, both in New York and Chicago and internationally.

Mateene chatted with Entertainment Weekly about Timothy’s second strike out, Sandro’s entertaining shenanigans, and the Kickstarter-funded fashion project she’s planning to launch in the near future.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: What was your initial reaction when Heidi announced the diamonds and evening wear challenge?
Kahindo Mateene: I was first a little nervous because I do not do a lot of evening wear. I typically do more day wear and ready-to-wear looks. But I was also excited because I got to try something that is a challenge for me and new to me.

What drew you to the diamonds and model that you chose?
The pieces were very classic and simple. The gold was a beautiful color to work with, and the necklace and earrings looked beautiful with the greens in the fabrics that I chose, and Jillian’s red hair.

If you could go back and make some design edits, what would those be now that you have heard the judges’ critiques? READ FULL STORY
