Guy Style: Who was best dressed at the Critics' Choice Awards? -- POLL

Even to those of us who know the difference between a shawl collar and a peaked lapel, most male stars become blurs of black and white amid a parade of gowns on the red carpet.

So let’s take a moment to appreciate the guy style at last night’s Critics’ Choice Film Awards.

Critics' Choice Awards: Who was the best dressed Oscar-nominated actress? -- POLL

Just hours after the nominations were announced — and four days after the fashion frenzy at the Golden Globes — many of this year’s Oscar contenders hit the red carpet at the Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

Lupita Nyong’o, Sandra Bullock, Amy Adams, Julia Roberts, and Cate Blanchett represented the Oscar-nominated actresses.

Sofia Vergara's Golden Globes dress swap: Before or after-party? -- POLL

Most nominees slip into something more comfortable before they hit the after-party circuit — not Sofia Vergara.

The Modern Family star tried something new for the red carpet, arriving at the ceremony wearing a dark, romantic Zac Posen ballgown. Once the show was over, Vergara changed into a sexy, beaded Zuhair Murad mermaid gown.

Vergara’s second dress got nearly as much attention as the first, and not just because of the cleavage-baring plunging neckline. The actress posed for pictures at post-show parties hosted by HBO, NBC/Universal, InStyle/Warner Bros., and Fox/FX.

Who will be the best dressed TV actress at the Golden Globes? POLL

EW’s Melissa Maerz and Jeff Jensen have shared their predictions for the Golden Globes TV categories, but who will win the red carpet?

To narrow down the field I chose five of the most consistently stylish nominees.

Best supporting actress nominee Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) always (always, always) brings the sex appeal, so it’s safe to assume that she’ll wear something sequined that shows off her curves. Nominated for her role in a made-for-TV movie, 68-year-old Helen Mirren (Phil Spector) gives younger stars a run for their money on the red carpet. What if best actress nominee Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) and her co-host Tina Fey tie for best dressed? As for best actress nominee Kerry Washington (Scandal) … I mean, come on, she’s Kerry Washington, of course she’ll look amazing. Zooey Deschanel’s (New Girl) hit-or-miss style makes her one of tonight’s red carpet wild card contenders.

Who will be the best dressed movie actress at the Golden Globes? POLL

EW’s Anthony Breznican has shared his predictions for the Golden Globes movie categories, but who will win the red carpet?

To narrow down the field I chose five of the most consistently stylish nominees, but I always love a good fashion upset.

Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle) is the face of the Miss Dior handbag line, so it’s safe to assume that, even though her Dior gown tripped her up at last year’s Oscars, the best supporting actress nominee will wear a gown from the French fashion label. Cate Blanchett’s (Blue Jasmine) style, like her acting, is unparalleled — who else could pull off a pagoda-shouldered, red lacquer sequined dress? — so I’ve got high expectations for the best actress contender. No one does red carpet romantic better than best actress nominee Amy Adams (American Hustle), thanks in part to designer pals like Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera. In just a few short months, Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) has earned as much attention for her style as she has for her breakout role, which earned the newcomer a nod in the best supporting actress category. Technically, Sandra Bullock (Gravity) is a red carpet veteran, but best actress nominee could teach the up-and-comers a thing or two about getting dressed for the red carpet.

A 'Project Runway All Stars' winner is crowned -- Did the judges make the right choice? POLL

Seth Aaron Henderson made Project Runway history last night when he was crowned the winner of Project Runway All Stars season three.

The self-taught designer beat out fellow finalists Korto Momolu and Elena Slyvniak, to become the first designer to win both Project Runway (season seven) and Project Runway All Stars. Among the spoils of his victory: his own QVC fashion collection, a fashion spread and contributing editor title at Marie Claire magazine, an all-expenses paid trip for two to South East Asia, a cash prize of $150,000, and a complete custom sewing studio.

On last night’s finale, Henderson’s final collection — inspired by his Spanish heritage and created in just four days with a budget of $2,000 — helped him lock up a majority vote from host Alyssa Milano, judges Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman, mentor Zanna Roberts Rassi, and guest judges Gayle King and Zac Posen.

Fashion Face-Off: Who was best dressed at the 'Girls' season 3 premiere? -- POLL

Not even the approaching polar vortex could stop the girls of Girls from showing some skin at the season 3 premiere in New York City tonight.

And with the exception of Zosia Mamet, each of the ladies stayed true to her signature style.

Jemima Kirke’s vintage ivory satin Geminola dress had a definite boho vibe, Lena Dunham sparkled in a sequined frock from Rochas — and experimented with smoky eye makeup — and Allison Williams was every inch the ingenue in Dior. The usually eccentric Mamet chose to keep it simple in a little black Saint Laurent dress and gold accessories.

Couture or Cray-Cray: Jennifer Lawrence's see-through dress -- POLL

Jennifer Lawrence moonlights as the face of Miss Dior handbags, which is why she’s often seen wearing the French label on the red carpet.

During the awards season run up to her Oscar win for Best Actress earlier this year, Lawrence narrowly avoided a wardrobe malfunction — a clothes call? — when the layers of her Dior gown went all askew at the 2013 SAG Awards. (A rep for the fashion house claimed it was all just an illusion.)

The actress chose to wear Christian Dior again for last night’s Hollywood premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in Los Angeles, and the frock caused quite a ruckus. Though the grey knitted evening gown — from Dior’s fall 2013 couture collection — was completely sheer, Lawrence, unlike the runway model, wore a black bodysuit underneath to avoid full frontal exposure. She accessorized the peek-a-boo dress with Brian Atwood platform sandals, a Roger Vivier clutch, jewelry from Anita Ko, and her new cropped pixie hairstyle.

Do you think Lawrence’s look is fashionably cool or just plain cray-cray? Cast your vote after the jump. READ FULL STORY

Star style at Paris Fashion Week: Couture or cray cray? You decide -- POLL

Though Kim Kardashian commanded most of the attention at Paris Fashion Week — did you see that dress? — there were plenty of other celebrities lining the runways, more than a few of them wearing outfits that blurred the line between avant-garde and “Girl, what the hell are you wearing?”

Click on to see Katy Perry’s pattern mash-up, Angie Harmon’s Big Foot booties, Pamela Anderson’s kaleidoscopic dress, and more head-turning — and not necessarily in a good way — star styles and tell us whether you think each look is fashionably cool or just plain cray-cray.  READ FULL STORY
