This week, Jessica Chastain wore Elizabeth Taylor’s jewels, Sharon Stone flashed a little side boob and lots of leg, Nicole Kidman stepped out in the dress that Anne Hathaway was reportedly suposed to wear to the Oscars. In addition to the action in Cannes, Lea Michele and Bradley Cooper walked the red carpet in Hollywood, while Zach Galifianakis and Gwyneth Paltrow stepped out in London.

'Stoker': How the production and costume designers helped create an unsettling thriller -- EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS

Stoker, the first English-language film of South Korean director Park Chan-wook (Oldboy), is creepy, twisted and just…off, and much of that tone — which Chan-wook calls a “gothic fairy tale” — was achieved through unusual costuming and production design choices.

The film reunited production designer Thérèse DePrez with costuming duo Kurt & Bart (who prefer to not use their last names in their work) who previously collaborated on the Allen Ginsberg biopic Howl. While Howl was grounded in the reality of a specific time period, the three designers were challenged by Chan-wook to create an “out of time” feel for Stoker. READ FULL STORY

Golden Globes Red Carpet Fashion Face-Off: Nicole Kidman vs. Helen Mirren -- POLL

Black made a comeback on the red carpet at last night’s Golden Globes, but Nicole Kidman and Helen Mirren were the only ones who really got it right.

Kidman worked the sheer-and-solid trend in an Alexander McQueen gown with a studded neckline and mesh paneled waist. She kept her jewelry — earrings, bangles and a cocktail ring, all by Neil Lane — and her hair and makeup simple, letting her dress do all the talking.

Mirren could (and should) give a master class on how to dress your age and still look hot on the red carpet. Like Kidman, the 67 year-old actress also went edgy, minus the peek-a-boo waist and with the addition of a couple of sleeves. Mirren stood out from the crowd of pale frocks in her midnight Badgley Mischka gown, embellished with gold beading and an embroidered belt effect.

Both Oscar winners wore dresses that are best described as warrior chic, so we’re pitting them against each other in a head-to-head red carpet fashion battle. READ FULL STORY

Nicole Kidman channels Grace Kelly's regal style

Nicole Kidman has stepped into the shoes of writers Martha Gellhorn (Hemingway & Gellhorn), Virginia Woolf (The Hours) and photographer Diane Arbus (Fur) for previous roles, but if the latest pictures from the set of the upcoming biopic Grace of Monaco are any indication, her role as actress-turned-princess Grace Kelly might be her best historical figure transformation yet.
