New York Fashion Week: Rodarte debuts 'Star Wars' gowns

Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mullevay stunned fashionistas everywhere Tuesday when they capped their runway show by showcasing a series of silk gowns that incorporate images from George Lucas’ Star Wars films into their designs.

The gowns, which are part of Rodarte’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection, feature the likes of Luke Skywalker, Yoda, and even the Death Star across the bottom portion of the dresses. Check out two of the creative designs below:

David and Victoria Beckham's daughter Harper sits front-row at Fashion Week -- PHOTO

Sorry, Tavi: There is a new record-holder for youngest fashionista to sit in the front row at New York Fashion Week.

Harper Beckham accompanied her dad, soccer superstar David Beckham, to mom Victoria’s fashion show Sunday, sitting on his lap and earning the attention (and smile!) of Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour. The 2-year-old clearly inherited her famous parents’ sense of style, wearing a little white dress with her hair in a top-knot. (OK, we know those famous parents probably dressed her, but we’ll give her the credit!)

“All eyes on Baby Harper,” Victoria tweeted after the show.

Along with Wintour, fellow Vogue editor Grace Coddington and celeb stylist Rachel Zoe were also spotted at the show.

Daria in Prabal Gurung? 90s cartoon characters do New York Fashion Week -- PHOTOS

Sure, there are the clothes, but New York Fashion Week is also about random celebrity sightings. It’s only day two, but we’ve already spotted the Jonas brothers engaging in front row banter with Zach Quinto, Zosia Mamet wearing a sparkly pink dress that even Shoshanna would have second thoughts about, the Olsen twins almost smiling, and Alcide Herveaux.

And, thanks to Swagger New York, Lisa Simpson wearing a pair of Marc Jacobs hotpants.

The fashion and culture website collaborated with Italian designer Michele Moricci to create “Fantasy Fashion Week,” a world where 1990s cartoon characters like Daria, Sailor Moon, and Beavis and Butthead are among the stars at the shows. Fashion Week awards honor Rachel Zoe, Zac Posen and more

The Style Awards at Lincoln Center kicked off New York Fashion Week with honors for Kate Upton, Zac Posen and Rachel Zoe, among others.

The largest venue at the tents that serve as fashion week’s hubs were filled with tables, ice buckets and celebrities Wednesday night, just 12 hours before BCBG Max Azria would preview the first major collection of the week on the catwalk. READ FULL STORY
