Costume designer Reiko Kurumada told EW that the second she saw the sequined red gown, she knew it was The One. “That specific dress was perfect for the engagement scene. We didn’t want to take away from that very special, poignant moment between Barney and Robin, while still illustrating Robin’s classic, timeless, natural beauty,” she said. “The dress is so elegantly simple, while still making the style impact we wanted by the gorgeous color and delicate bead work.”
