Christmas came early for more than a few fashion designers when Beyoncé’s new “visual album” arrived on Friday.

From big-name labels like Versace, Georges Chakra, and DKNY to indie designers like Wendy Nichol, Norma Kamali, and Alexander Wang and even wannabe hipster brands like Urban Outfitters, Beyoncé’s style team really spread the love around when it came to assembling the wardrobe for each of the 17 music videos.

Beyoncé surprised everyone when she unceremoniously dropped her new album last Friday — including many of the people who actually worked on the videos.

“Nobody knew. They did it without telling anybody that they were releasing it today,” stylist Lysa Cooper told THR. “We all thought it was going to be released by Christmas or maybe after the New Year. We weren’t really sure, so it was a big surprise.”

Cooper was one of five stylists hired to dress Beyoncé for the 17 videos that comprise the “visual album.” READ FULL STORY

'SNL' shops at H&M: Ever want to see John Goodman in skinny jeans? -- VIDEO

You know how everything at H&M seems to be under $10 and always ends up on the store’s floor? So does Saturday Night Live.

In a Jay Pharoah music video, featuring a verse from rapper Wale, the show lampoons H&M’s over-the-top style sense, fragile construction, and tiny sizing (that last part was perfectly displayed by host John Goodman trying to squeeze into a pair of jeggings).

Considering that she debuted the first single in an ad campaign for H&M, it’s no surprise that the 17 videos released along with Beyoncé’s new self-titled “visual album” are chock-full of fashion.

Since the album dropped (without warning) this morning, my inbox has been filling up with emails from fashion and beauty publicists who spotted their brand’s clothes, jewelry, bathing suits, vintage tights, and even glow-in-the-dark nail polish.

Click on for all the glorious details, then head to the comments and tell us: Which of Beyoncé’s 17 videos is the most fierce? READ FULL STORY

Tilda Swinton to impersonate David Bowie?

The-Stars-are-Out-Tonight

London’s Victoria & Albert Museum will celebrate the opening of the “David Bowie Is” retrospective tomorrow night, but rather than making an appearance, it’s rumored that the guest of honor will send his Oscar-winning doppelgänger.

Though reps for the museum won’t comment, Women’s Wear Daily reports that “industry sources” say Tilda Swinton “will be impersonating Bowie in his absence.” Swinton, who plays Bowie’s wife in the video for “The Stars (Are Out Tonight),” bears a striking resemblance to the androgynous musician.

The V&A exhibit — which includes personal artifacts like instruments, diaries, album art, and costumes — looks back at Bowie’s life and career. Among those expected to attend the opening night party are Kate Moss, Bill Nighy, and fashion designers Erdem Moralioglu and Christopher Kane.

Watch Swinton in the video for Bowie’s “The Stars (Are Out Tonight)” after the jump.  READ FULL STORY
