Fashion Face-Off: Kim Kardashian vs. Robin Williams' Mrs. Doubtfire

Yesterday, the fashion press did their best to describe the gloved Ricardo Tisci for Givenchy gown that Kim Kardashian wore to the Met Gala.

“Unforgiving-as-wallpaper,” balked the New York Times. “Your beloved Aunt Sylvia’s finished basement in Van Nuys circa 1986?” TMZ offered. “Our punk moment with a romantic beautiful flower-printed dress,” Tisci himself retorted. “People can say what they want. To me, pregnancy is the most beautiful thing in the world, and when you celebrate something, you give people flowers.”

And just as the fashion backlash seemed to be dying down, Robin Williams tweeted the ultimate sartorial zinger. READ FULL STORY »

Fashion Face-Off: Kim Kardashian vs. Kris Jenner -- POLL

Just because Kim Kardashian can’t squeeze her baby bump into her signature body con style dresses — though goodness knows she’s tried — doesn’t mean they have to sit in her closet collecting dust and going out of style!

Kardashian momager Kris Jenner borrowed one of her daughter’s curve-hugging frocks for yesterday’s E! network upfront event in New York City. Kim wore the $3,690 red lace Valentino dress while promoting her True Reflection fragrance in London last May.

I can practically hear Joan Rivers screaming “Bitch stole my look!”

Who wore the red dress best? Vote now in the poll below. (And no, “who cares” is not an answer option, but feel free to blow off your Kardashian steam in the comments.)  READ FULL STORY »

Lanvin Fashion Face-Off: Kim Kardashian vs. Zoe Saldana -- POLL

Making the media rounds in New York City last week, Kim Kardashian caused quite a stir in her not-quite-maternity clothes. On March 26, Kardashian hit the streets wearing a blush-colored honeycomb dress from Lanvin’s Resort 2013 collection, a look that prompted the New York Post to ask, “What the frock?”

Zoe Saldana was the first star to wear the designer piece, modeling it for photographers on the red carpet at the Trevor Project’s ‘Trevor Live’ event in Los Angeles last December.

Obviously, the dress looks very different on Kim — she had major curves long before she sprouted that baby bump — than it does on Zoe’s slender frame, so I think this decision comes down to the shoes. Kardashian paired her dress with a pair of nude Christian Louboutin stilletos, while Saldana went with Lanvin’s crystal toe-cap pumps.

Who wore Lanvin better? Cast your vote in the poll below!  READ FULL STORY »

Kim Kardashian responds to her (maternity) fashion critics: 'It's so subjective'

Kim Kardashian is making the media rounds to promote her role in Tyler Perry’s Temptation, but so far the mother-to-be has found herself fielding questions from interviewers who seem much more interested in her maternity style.

During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Michael yesterday, Kardashian — wearing a Lanvin dress and Christian Louboutin stilettos (pictured above) — recalled her sister Kourtney’s warning that a baby bump would make her a fresh target for fashion critics. “She said, ‘All of the criticism you get when you’re pregnant or a new mom is insane, just wait.’” Kim remembered.

It seems Kourtney’s pregnancy prophecy has come true. READ FULL STORY »
