Last night, the biggest names in music walked the blue carpet at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

Channeling the spirit of Sin City, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez wore lots of sequins, while Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez experimented with out-the-box designs, and Nicki Minaj went for full-out sexy.

We know who won the awards, but who was best dressed? Cast your vote in the poll below. READ FULL STORY »

The 2013 Met Gala: Who's taking whom (and what will everyone wear?)

At Monday night’s Met Gala, guests are expected to wear ensembles that evoke the theme of this year’s Met Costume Institute exhibition – PUNK: Chaos to Couture.

Earlier this week, Dukes of Melrose star Cameron Silver told the New York Times that “no one has a clue” what to wear to the punk-themed ball. “We keep running into the same problem, which is that rich women don’t want to look punk, or grunge,” Silver, who owns the Decades vintage and consignment boutique in L.A. said of the difficulty he’s had outfitting his wealthy clientele for the big night. “Not that many women want to look like Nancy Spungen.”

For celebrities, finding the perfect punk-inspired ensemble starts with a designer fairy godmother — or godfather, as the case may be.

Will someone wear the Versace safety-pin dress made famous by Elizabeth Hurley and, later, Lady Gaga? Will Gwyneth Paltrow send her team out to find a razor so she can shave her… head and show up with a mohawk? Will Elizabeth Banks come as Effie Trinket? Will Kanye West bring Kim Kardashian? (That last question has nothing to do with fashion, but it had to be asked.)

A list of the designers and their celebrity dates posted yesterday by The Hollywood Reporter may offer some clues. Click on to see who will be escorting — and therefore probably dressing — stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Nicki Minaj, Psy, Jennifer Lopez, and more stars to the Oscars of Fashion.  READ FULL STORY »

Judging from the response to last week’s poll, there are quite a few fashion critics in the PopStyle audience, so we’re going to make YOU Grade the Looks a weekly feature.

This week we spotted Kim Kardashian in maternity feathers, Miley Cyrus’ Fashion Week romper, Beyoncé’s nearly nude gown, Bradley Cooper in a very shiny suit, JLo’s attempt to mix prints and more head-turning celebrity red carpet fashion.

Who pulled it off and who should have thought twice before walking out the door? You decide.

Oscars Fashion: What is the most worn designer label in the last 15 years?

Who are you wearing?”

It may sound like a silly question, but there’s more at stake than just making the best dressed list — or staying off the worst dressed list — at the Academy Awards. The kind of publicity generated by a picture of a high-profile actress in a designer gown is so precious that stories abound of fashion brands offering cash, endorsement deals and other incentives in exchange for a star’s loyalty on Oscar night.

But it’s not likely that we’ll ever hear Ryan Seacrest ask “Why are you wearing that?” so let’s turn our attention back to the who.

In the last 15 years of Oscars red carpets, one designer name has been the answer to the question “Who are you wearing?” more times than any other. Who is it? READ FULL STORY »

Kaufmanfranco designers Ken Kaufman and Isaac Franco got a double dose of publicity last night when both Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez wore dresses from their Spring 2013 collection to red carpet events.

At the 40 Principales Music Awards in Madrid, Swift looked very grown-up in a sexy crystal-embroidered shift with a plunging illusion insert, which she paired with Christian Louboutin “Dufoura” PVC and python booties.

At the Las Vegas premiere of Parker, Lopez — who has never been shy about showing skin — turned her back on photographers to show off the full effect of her open-back panelled illusion gown.

Who used their nude illusion best? Cast your vote in the poll below.  READ FULL STORY »
