Though the color red was the hot hue of the night, many leading ladies opted to wear white to last night’s Golden Globe Awards.
Heidi Klum and Lea Michele both chose white gowns with thigh-high slits — stay tuned for our thoughts on “The Angelina Effect” — and sweeping trains.
Klum turned to her go-to designers to create her ensemble, pairing a one-sleeved Alexandre Vauthier dress with Christian Louboutin “Un Bout” pumps and jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz.
Despite an overly orange spray tan, Glee star Michele sparkled in an embellished halter gown by designer Elie Saab.

Move over, “I’m not here to make friends.” “I’m not a team player” and its various incarnations could be the new most frequently uttered phrase on reality TV, especially after the new season of Project Runway (premiering Jan. 24). In season 11, every challenge will be a team challenge, much to the designers’ displeasure — the individualistic and often fiery contestants of seasons past have always dreaded team challenges.
But Runway mentor Tim Gunn assures EW that we’re not in for another dreary season full of cranky designers. “Coming out of season 10, which Heidi [Klum] and I refer to as the ‘season of the rain clouds,’ season 11 became sunny again,” he says. He credits the revitalization to the contestants’ genuine desire to win and advance their careers, which he believes was lacking last season. If the below preview is any indication, we’re in for a passionate season, full of drama, great looks, snark from new judge Zac Posen, and of course, fashion disasters. Last night Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian and even Psy rocked the red carpet at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards in Frankfurt, Germany, but nobody out did host Heidi Klum who showed out on stage in her home country in a parade of revealing dresses.
Before the festivities, the model-turned-TV personality revealed: “I have six different outfits from Versace that I love very much and I think for an event like the MTV awards I usually have a little bit more fun, I can be a little bit more sexy, a little more rock ‘n’ roll…So they have got me beautiful outfits, great shoes and great jewellery, but it depends how much time I have to change in between (hosting) because it’s all live.”

Nobody does Halloween like Heidi Klum!
This year, the Project Runway star will host her 13th annual Halloween bash, and she’s put in some major prep time to come up with a costume that will top her past ensembles. In previous years, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel has stayed away from sexy costumes — see her as a skinless corpse in 2011 and an alien transformer in 2010 — but now that she won’t be coordinating her look with Seal, the single lady has decided to channel her inner goddess.
A video posted to Klum’s AOL channel shows the months-long process that takes the idea from the initial sketch stage to the finished red carpet-ready costume. The first step is a meeting with designer Martin Izquierdo to discuss the concept — Cleopatra. After Izquidero asks what direction she wants to take, Klum sums it up in three words; “Big, gold, glittery!”

Project Runway’s 10th season finale airs tonight, and contestants Christopher, Dmitry and Fabio weren’t the only ones who put in hours prepping for the big moment.
Heidi Klum went to work at 4:35am (whew!) to get beautified for the taping of the finale fashion show — where she sat alongside Michel Kors, Nina Garcia and guest judge Jennifer Hudson in the front row — and AOL followed her to get all the action on video. (Seriously Heidi, what’s the secret to looking that gorgeous at o’dark thirty in the morning?)
Watch hairstylist Michael Aleman and Heidi’s beauty team work their magic to turn her into a red carpet-ready goddess. Then follow Heidi through the runway show, press appearances and more as she takes on the day in an Alexandre Vauthier dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Christian Louboutin heels that don’t come off until 6pm.
All in a day’s work!
