Kids model Grammy fashions worn by Taylor Swift, Madonna, Pharrell, and more

ToddleWood is back!

All of the Grammys good, bad, and WTF? fashion moments — Madonna’s pimp cane, Pharrell’s hat, Paula Patton’s rabid zebra-print dress to name just a few — have been immortalized in kid-size glamor shots.

Founded by former advertising executive-turned-photographer Tricia Messeroux, the photo project imagines everyday kids as A-list celebrities, historic figures, and more recognizable icons. The idea was born in 2008, when Messeroux decided to shoot her then-three year old daughter, Skylar.

“My process now is to think about what the look that I want to  achieve is, so it needs to be an iconic celebrity or a political figure or someone notable, or a moment in time,” Messeroux told EW last year. “The Grammys have some of the most outrageous outfits, which for someone like, me is exciting.”

Wear Pharrell's Grammy hat (on your shirt)

People are still talking about that hat Pharrell wore to the Grammys.

The music producer’s oversized topper was the most talked-about fashion moment of the night, inspiring the @Pharrellhat parody Twitter handle, an Instagram account, and the biggest red carpet Internet meme since Angelina Jolie’s right leg.

Thanks to clothing label M.O.C. Brand Pharrell’s sartorial statement has been immortalized on a limited- edition polo shirt.  READ FULL STORY

Grammys: All about Pharrell's hat

It’s not easy to upstage two guys in robot helmets, but Pharrell Williams and his big brown hat did just that at last night’s Grammys.

The music producer’s oversized topper was the most talked-about fashion moment of the night, inspiring a parody Twitter handle — @Pharrellhat, which currently has over 14,000 followers — an Instagram account, and the biggest red carpet Internet meme since Angelina Jolie’s right leg.

Where did Williams get his hat? And was he surprised that it became an instant pop culture phenomenon? Read on to find out.  READ FULL STORY

What They Wore: Beyonce, Jay-Z, and more stars who skipped the Grammys red carpet

If, like me, you thought the red carpet at tonight’s Grammy Awards was a little bit “meh,” it may have been because some pretty major stars skipped the fashion parade.

I’m looking at you, Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

Lorde, Julia Roberts, and Reverend Queen Latifah also must have entered the Staples Center through a side door, because we had to wait until the ceremony was well underway before we could get a glimpse at what they were wearing.

Grammys: Who was worst dressed? -- POLL

Not everyone can be a winner on Grammy night — and I’m not talking about the awards.

Paula Patton followed up her Golden Globes fashion debacle with a bizarre rabid zebra-print dress.

Wearing a sheer shirtdress, Zendaya looked like she had headed over to the Staples Center after finishing her shift at Ann Taylor.

From the front, Paris Hilton’s dress made her look like a badly dressed bride. From behind she looked like a bachelor party stripper.

Grammys Best Dressed: Who struck fashion gold? -- POLL

There was a parade of golden girls at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

Taylor Swift said she felt bulletproof in her chainmail inspired lamé and crystal mesh Gucci Premiere gown.

Rita Ora tried something different, opting to wear a metallic Lanvin cocktail dress — described by the label as “absinthe green” with “lavender undertones” — that was totally rock ‘n roll.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model Chrissy Teigen — who became Mrs. John Legend last fall — was dazzling in a strapless gown by designer Johanna Johnson.

Grammys Guy Style: Who wore the oddest outfit? -- POLL

In a surprising fashion twist, it was the men who took the biggest fashion risks at tonight’s Grammy Awards.

For once, Ryan Lewis stole the style spotlight from Macklemore, thanks to a hideous houndstooth-print suit from Mr.Turk.

Steven Tyler took the title of all-time worst white suit from Celine Dion.

Pharrell? Is that you under that hat? Please tell me that this was all a big joke and you meant to inspire the biggest fashion meme since Angelina’s right leg. Please.

Lorde shares bizarre style inspirations for her Grammys red carpet look

Better brace yourself, Ryan Seacrest. You might get more than you bargained for when you ask singer Lorde what she’s wearing at Sunday night’s Grammys.

Over the past week, the 17 year-old singer — who is nominated for four awards — has been posting images her macabre style inspirations on Instagram, including a “siberian bear hunting outfit” and what appears to be a papier-mache sea monster costume. “Brainstorming for Grammys,” reads the caption accompanying a photo of a woman with “over-it zombie eyes.”

Unlike other ceremonies where the fashion is taken almost as seriously as the awards, the Grammys red carpet has seen plenty of odd outfits — Nicki Minaj’s slutty nun’s habit, Katy Perry’s fallen angel dress, Lady Gaga’s egg-shaped cocoon to name just a few. ”What else is a girl going to wear to the Grammys?” Annie Lennox said of the naughty Minnie Mouse ensemble she wore in 1995.

In an interview with Teen Vogue last fall, Lorde said that when it comes to style, she prefers thrift store finds to designer labels and marches to the beat of her own drum. “I like simple clothes,” she explained. “But sometimes I’ll go for a goth-witch vibe.”

Is Jennifer Lopez's 2000 Grammys dress still shocking? -- POLL

Back in 2000 when she was known as JLo, Jennifer Lopez accompanied then-boyfriend Puff Daddy to the Grammys wearing a very revealing sheer chiffon Versace gown. The couple split up soon after, but the image of Lopez in that dress lives on.

It’s certainly the most memorable gown in Grammys history — it even has its own Wikipedia page — but if Lopez wore the dress that put her on the fashion map to this Sunday’s ceremony, would it be considered shocking by today’s red carpet standards?

In the last year alone, we’ve seen plenty of dresses that make JLo’s Versace number look positively demure by comparison. In April 2013, Gwyneth Paltrow not only showed up to the premiere of Iron Man 3 in a NSFW gown by Antonio Berardi, she shared a TMI story about having to shave her bikini line minutes before hitting the red carpet. Last November, actress Jaimie Alexander stole Thor’s thunder when she walked the red carpet at the premiere of the action flick wearing an Azzaro Couture gown that barely concealed her naughty bits. Just days later in London, British model Abbey Clancy took side boob to a whole new level in a Julien Macdonald gown at the appropriately named Fashion for the Brave benefit.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the dress — more accurately described as a scrap of mesh fabric and a thong — that Rose McGowan wore to the MTV VMAs in 1998, almost two years before JLo taped on her Grammys dress. But McGowan’s display was not so much a fashion moment as it was a case of temporary insanity. Same goes for Lady Gaga’s 2011 Grammys egg ensemble.

If Jennifer Lopez wore that infamous Versace dress today, would it still be as shocking as it was the first time? Cast your vote in the poll below. READ FULL STORY
