'Orphan Black' star Tatiana Maslany on her Golden Globes look: 'This could be glam clone'

Lupita Nyong’o may have gotten the lion’s share of attention, but another actress made an impressive awards season red carpet debut at Sunday’s Golden Globes.

Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany, a nominee in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama, glittered in a beaded platinum gown from British designer Jenny Packham’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection.

The inspiration behind Maslany’s ensemble?

“I wanted to be as far away from the look of a psycho Ukrainian murderer,” joked the 28 year-old actress. READ FULL STORY

'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills': Kyle Richards on her HSN clothing line and season 4 drama

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards is capitalizing on her reality TV fame with a new clothing line for shopping network HSN.

The Bravolebrity is releasing an eight-piece collection inspired by her personal style. Items in the Kyle by Kyle Richards line are priced between $69.90 and $199.90. The collection debuts February 25th on HSN.com.

Sofia Vergara's Golden Globes dress swap: Before or after-party? -- POLL

Most nominees slip into something more comfortable before they hit the after-party circuit — not Sofia Vergara.

The Modern Family star tried something new for the red carpet, arriving at the ceremony wearing a dark, romantic Zac Posen ballgown. Once the show was over, Vergara changed into a sexy, beaded Zuhair Murad mermaid gown.

Vergara’s second dress got nearly as much attention as the first, and not just because of the cleavage-baring plunging neckline. The actress posed for pictures at post-show parties hosted by HBO, NBC/Universal, InStyle/Warner Bros., and Fox/FX.

Is a celebrity ever obligated to say yes to a dress?

There weren’t many fashion disasters at last night’s Golden Globes, but there were a couple of major disappointments, most notably Jennifer Lawrence and Zoe Saldana. Was bad taste to blame, or were there other forces at play?

“I’m wearing Dior. I wanted to surprise… do a shocker,” Lawrence told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. Was it just a tongue-in-cheek quip, or was it the actress’ way of saying that she didn’t have the option of choosing something from another label? READ FULL STORY

Golden Globes: Jennifer Lawrence's Dior dress inspires a fashion meme

American Hustle star Jennifer Lawrence’s dress was couture, but last night’s hottest fashion meme demonstrated how to get the look for less using a few household items.

As the actress walked the red carpet in a white silk Dior gown, the “Lawrencing” meme was born.

Everyone from Arrow‘s Colton Haynes to fashion blogger Bryanboy, and even a pretty Puggle showed the Internets how to recreate Lawrence’s gown using just a white sheet and some black electrical tape.

'Girls': Costume designer Jen Rogien on the new styles in season three

Girls-S3-Cast-PS.jpg

Though much ado has been made about the nudity on Girls, costume designer Jenn Rogien promises there are plenty of fully-clothed fashion moments to look forward to in season three.

“I will definitely say that each of the girls finds themselves in circumstances that force them to grow a little bit. I’m trying to keep up with that in their wardrobe choices,” Rogien told EW. “[The characters’ aesthetics are] a reflection of the choices they made in season two, how those decisions start to play out and the consequences.”

Rogien dressed a slew of season three guest characters (including Felicity Jones, Melonie Diaz, Jennifer Westfeldt), but it was J. Crew creative director Jenna Lyons — who plays Hannah’s new boss — that had the costume designer feeling star struck. “It was one of the highlights of the season for me to get to meet her because she’s one of my personal icons,” Rogien said, adding that Lyons brought her own clothing options to set. “I wouldn’t dream of trying to suggest to Jenna that she dress in a certain way. She came with amazing, amazing choices and ended up wearing almost all of her own wardrobe on the show.”

Rogien, who is also the costume designer for Orange is the New Black, was also excited to dress Danielle Brooks (Orange‘s Taystee) for her guest spot on Girls. “Her character is complicated and funny and sad. It was fun to put her [in something different].” Speaking of Orange, which is currently in production on season two, Rogien said; “They do still wear orange and khaki quite a bit, but there are some pretty amazing flashbacks that I’m really excited about. We travel into different time periods to see the characters’ backstories.”

Jon Voight at the Golden Globes: The story behind the scarf

When Jon Voight won Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie for Ray Donovan at Sunday’s Golden Globes, the 75-year-old actor looked dapper as ever — all thanks to a white scarf draped over his tux.

When he spoke to reporters backstage, he explained that the scarf has been his personal awards-show signature for quite some time, thanks to an accidental accessory more than four decades ago.

“I wore it to the Academy Awards once early in my career. Might have been for Midnight Cowboy,” he said of the 1969 movie, which won him his first Golden Globe. “It was one of those times, very early times. And I got dressed as you do for these things, and you don’t really think too much about it. You get a suit, and I put the shirt on, and the collar was too tight, and I couldn’t close the collar. I didn’t know what to do.

“I had the driver picking me up at a certain time,” Voight continued. “So I went by this haberdashery and said, ‘Hold on just a sec. I need to jump out.’ And I said, ‘I need something. Give me that scarf there.’ So I put the scarf on, thinking I could get away with something, that people wouldn’t notice that I had no tie and I had an open shirt. The next day, when the ‘fashion police’ come out, they said, ‘Only Jon Voight could get away with an open shirt! It was absolutely dazzling!’ So that’s it. It’s the scarf. And then it became something associated with me. I’ve given my original away, and I got this one.”

Take a trip down memory lane with Voight’s white scarf here and here.

Who will be the best dressed TV actress at the Golden Globes? POLL

EW’s Melissa Maerz and Jeff Jensen have shared their predictions for the Golden Globes TV categories, but who will win the red carpet?

To narrow down the field I chose five of the most consistently stylish nominees.

Best supporting actress nominee Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) always (always, always) brings the sex appeal, so it’s safe to assume that she’ll wear something sequined that shows off her curves. Nominated for her role in a made-for-TV movie, 68-year-old Helen Mirren (Phil Spector) gives younger stars a run for their money on the red carpet. What if best actress nominee Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) and her co-host Tina Fey tie for best dressed? As for best actress nominee Kerry Washington (Scandal) … I mean, come on, she’s Kerry Washington, of course she’ll look amazing. Zooey Deschanel’s (New Girl) hit-or-miss style makes her one of tonight’s red carpet wild card contenders.
