Designer Lauren Moffatt shares her New York Fashion Week playlist

Another season of New York Fashion Week has wrapped, but you can still get into the groove with the playlist behind designer Lauren Moffatt‘s Spring 2013 collection.

Moffatt’s cozy coats, high-waisted pants, sweet dresses and other cabin-ready separates were mostly inspired by a weekend in the Catskills, but songs by The Rolling Stones, The Almighty Defenders and Canned Heat also played a big part in the designer’s creative process.

“I’m really drawn to songs that blur the lines between new and old,” the designer told EW of her taste in music, which echos the vintage-meets-modern feel of her designs. “I love that you can’t really tell what era the songs on this mixtape are from. Fabienne DelSol released Pas Gentille in 2007, though it sounds like it could have been recorded in the ’60′s with Vashti Bunyan and Nico. Holly Golightly could also pass as a ’60s crooner, even though her most recent album came out last year. That timeless quality makes bands that are all over the map fit together really well.”

Click on the image above for a closer look at Moffatt’s track list or stream her stylish mixtape on Spotify.

In honor of New York Fashion Week, EW asked designers to name the movies, TV, music, art and books that served as pop culture inspirations for their collections.

First up is Tadashi Shoji, whose red carpet clients include Florence Welch, Lily Rabe, Christina Hendricks, and The Help star Octavia Spencer, who chose gowns by the designer – including the hand-beaded, ivory silk tulle gown she was wearing when she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress – for most of her 2012 awards season red carpet appearances.

For his Fall 2013 collection, which will hit the runway at Lincoln Center tomorrow afternoon, Shoji says he was inspired by one of this year’s Oscar nominees. His movie muse? READ FULL STORY »

How many models does it take to tell a decent joke? Find out in this Rodarte casting call video

Besides maybe Tyra Banks, models aren’t exactly known for their senses of humor — and while Tyra makes us laugh, she’s not always doing it intentionally. (“Women at work! Girls in school!“)

But a rainbow coalition of models reading a series of cheesy, Popsicle stick-style jokes, sporting a bevy of accents and varying degrees of understanding what, precisely, they’re saying? Now that‘s funny. See for yourself by watching the following video, which was assembled from footage shot at Rodarte’s spring/summer 2013 Fashion Week casting call:
