Fashion Face-Off: Kim Kardashian vs. Kris Jenner -- POLL

Kris-and-Kim-Kardashian-Face-Off.jpg

Just because Kim Kardashian can’t squeeze her baby bump into her signature body con style dresses — though goodness knows she’s tried — doesn’t mean they have to sit in her closet collecting dust and going out of style!

Kardashian momager Kris Jenner borrowed one of her daughter’s curve-hugging frocks for yesterday’s E! network upfront event in New York City. Kim wore the $3,690 red lace Valentino dress while promoting her True Reflection fragrance in London last May.

I can practically hear Joan Rivers screaming “Bitch stole my look!”

Who wore the red dress best? Vote now in the poll below. (And no, “who cares” is not an answer option, but feel free to blow off your Kardashian steam in the comments.)  READ FULL STORY »

MTV Movie Awards: Which style stunt was your favorite? -- POLL

MACKLEMORE-LEE-FERRELL.jpg

While I love a good designer red carpet moment, MTV’s various awards shows always include at least a few bizarre fashion statements that make things really interesting. And last week’s MTV Movie Awards upheld this fine tradition, gifting us with a few head scratching style moments.

Rapper Macklemore hit the carpet wearing a a cobalt suit — paired with a fringed Elvis cape – that was actually tailored to perfection. All the better for ensuring his safe landing when he jumped on the stage.

The U.S. Surgeon General wouldn’t approve of Pitch Perfect star Hana Mae Lee’s cigarette butt hat, created by Alain Lafaille for He-Ha. Or would she? “I’m not promoting smoking or not smoking at all, it’s just a fun sculpture on the head,” Lee declared.

Will Ferrell was so money in his three-piece currency suit, even though it was less about the Benjamins and more about the Washingtons and Lincolns. But the $5 and  $10 bill-print on the funnyman’s suit didn’t stop him from walking on stage to accept the Comedic Genius Award to the strains of rapper Pusha T’s single “Millions.”

MTV Movie Awards Fashion: Who was the best dressed young star? -- POLL

GOMEZ-WATSON-MORETZ.jpg

Somewhere in between Quvenzhane Wallis‘ oh-so-cute kitty purse and Zoe Saldana‘s super-sexy thigh-high slit, young stars like Selena Gomez, Emma Watson and Chloe Moretz managed to walk the blurry line between little girl and all-grown-up when they walked the red carpet at last night’s MTV Movie Awards.

Gomez had the Midas touch in a gold fringed Julien Macdonald mini dress and Jimmy Choo peep toe platforms.

Watson was a red carpet trailblazer in a Maxime Simoens dress, Proenza Schouler cut-out booties.

Moretz kept her look young and fun with a patchwork denim dress from Louis Vuitton and bow-accented Jimmy Choo pumps.

Lanvin Fashion Face-Off: Kim Kardashian vs. Zoe Saldana -- POLL

KARDASHIAN-SALDANA.jpg

Making the media rounds in New York City last week, Kim Kardashian caused quite a stir in her not-quite-maternity clothes. On March 26, Kardashian hit the streets wearing a blush-colored honeycomb dress from Lanvin’s Resort 2013 collection, a look that prompted the New York Post to ask, “What the frock?”

Zoe Saldana was the first star to wear the designer piece, modeling it for photographers on the red carpet at the Trevor Project’s ‘Trevor Live’ event in Los Angeles last December.

Obviously, the dress looks very different on Kim — she had major curves long before she sprouted that baby bump — than it does on Zoe’s slender frame, so I think this decision comes down to the shoes. Kardashian paired her dress with a pair of nude Christian Louboutin stilletos, while Saldana went with Lanvin’s crystal toe-cap pumps.

Who wore Lanvin better? Cast your vote in the poll below!  READ FULL STORY »
