Kourtney Kardashian talks about new kids clothing line

It’s no secret the Kardashian family loves fashion. They have a women’s clothing line called Kardashian Kollection at Sears, Dash boutiques in Los Angeles, Miami and New York, and have now launched a clothing line at Babies R Us stores called Kardashian Kids.

If you have a baby boy, though, you’re out of luck. The line is just for baby girls up to 24 months.

“I think girls’ (clothing) was easier for me to wrap my head around,” said Kourtney Kardashian while promoting the venture in New York Monday. She said she’s “obsessed with boys’ clothes,” but found “it was easier to just start with girls.” She hopes to incorporate boys’ clothing into the line in the future. “I would love to,” Kardashian, 34, said, adding that she started shopping for her son Mason, now 4, when she was pregnant with him. She also has a daughter, Penelope, who is almost 2.

While Penelope is too little to have a say in what she wears, Kardashian said she “picks her battles” when it comes to dressing her son, who likes to pick out his own clothes and “surprise everyone and then come out and show us his outfit so it’s really cute.” But “if there’s a special occasion and I really want him to wear a suit on Christmas Eve for this or that, then he’s so far has been good about still wearing what I want.”

Kardashian would rather shop for her kids than herself. “It’s just so much more fun and there’s so much out there, but I’m really picky,” she said, adding that she loves to put outfits together for them. Kardashian says she and her sisters, Kim and Khloe, each bring their own sense of style to the kids’ lines, with Khloe partial to leopard print, Kourtney loving butterfly motifs and Kim a fan of neutral colors.

Kardashian also gives a thumbs-up to the new Vogue magazine cover picturing Kim embraced by her husband-to-be, Kanye West. Vogue editor Anna Wintour defended the cover in a letter to readers, saying she likes to “feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it.” Wintour called the cover “charming and touching.”

Kourtney Kardashian said she was very happy for her sister. “When she told me I was just speechless and you know she looks beautiful,” she said.

Katie Holmes and Jeanne Yang close fashion line

Katie Holmes and celebrity stylist Jeanne Yang knew it would happen one day: They’ve shut down the fashion company they started together.

“It’s a 5-year-old business that they always knew was going to end,” Leslie Sloane-Zelnick, a publicist for the actress, said Thursday.

There was no formal announcement but word first circulated about a month ago.

“They still remain good friends,” Sloane-Zelnick said. “The timing was due to the fact that they have other projects in their lives right now and they live on separate coasts. And this is what they always planned.”

Sarah Jessica Parker discusses her shoe line...which includes 'The Carrie'

Sarah Jessica Parker may just go to a shoe store today and wistfully exclaim, “Hello, Loverrrrr!” at a pair of strappy stilettos. Only this time, they’ll be her own creation.

The once and future Carrie Bradshaw’s inevitable shoe line, SJP, hits Nordstrom this week. The shoes are designed with George Malkemus, CEO of Manolo Blahnik, and run in the $300 range.

The actress spoke with the Associated Press about the project and explained why now — 10 years after the show ended its original HBO run — was the right time to get into the shoe business. “I was very kindly being offered a lot of opportunities in the shoe category and I kept rejecting them,” Parker explained. “And I couldn’t figure out why. … And I was sitting with some women friends of mine and they said to me, ‘What is it?’ And I said, ‘Well, I know it’s not going to be the shoe that I want it to be.’ And I said that really my dream partner is George Malkemus. And they said, ‘Have you asked him?'” READ FULL STORY

Naked or not? H&M asks fans to vote for their favorite David Beckham Super Bowl ad -- VIDEO

Covered or uncovered? H&M is asking fans to decide how much David Beckham they want to see on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Swedish retailer has released video clips for two versions of its new commercial for the David Beckham Bodywear line, which will premiere during the big game on Sunday, Feb. 2. The spot was shot by director Nicolas Winding Refn (Only God Forgives, Drive) Viewers with certain models of the Internet-connected Samsung Smart TV will be able to “buy it like Beckham,” shopping for items seen in the ads directly through their television.

Starting January 27, fans will be able to vote on whether they prefer their Beckham #covered or #uncovered. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that the #uncovered ad — the clip implies that Beckham loses his underpants and arrives at an H&M photo shoot fully naked — will emerge victorious.

Watch the teaser clips for H&M’s David Beckham Bodywear Super Bowl commercial after the jump and decide for yourself.

Report: Jay-Z's Barneys collection rakes in $1 million

Despite the controversy surrounding the release of Jay-Z’s holiday collection for Barneys New York, the rap mogul’s line of clothes and accessories for the upscale retailer raked in a lot of money.

The New York Daily News quotes a source close to Barneys, who claimed that while the numbers were still being tallied, “profits had exceeded the million-dollar mark.”

The launch of the “A New York Holiday” collection was overshadowed by accusations of discrimination when two black shoppers said they were racially profiled after making expensive purchases at the luxury department store. Though his fans criticized him for refusing to pull out of his fashion partnership with Barneys, Jay-Z defended his decision to go ahead with the line as planned.    READ FULL STORY

Matthew McConaughey has a clothing line? See his spring collection

Actor, father… clothing designer? Who knew Matthew McConaughey has his own line of mens wear?

The Dallas Buyers Club star quietly launched his JKL Brand label — the name is a play on the actor’s motto, “Just keep livin'” — earlier this year.

The adventure-inspired line, which is available at Dillards, currently includes message tees with “fun and witty truisms straight from Matthew’s mouth” ($17.50), pullover sweaters ($59.50-$99.50), and slim-fit jeans ($62.65-$89.50).

McConaughey ventured into the fashion business as a way to further his philanthropic endeavors. A portion of every sale benefits the Just Keep Livin’ Foundation, the non-profit the actor created to provide after-school fitness and wellness programs in inner-city high schools. “The Just Keep Livin’ Foundation provides a place where kids can go after school and be part of a fun, supportive, positive unit. It’s the team for the kids who maybe didn’t ‘make the team,'” McConaughey said in a statement sent to EW. “With each purchase of any JKL Brand item, a portion of that buy directly funds a resource necessary to give the young men and women in our foundation what [they] need. It’s inspiring, because we see how it helps.”

Although McConaughey stars alongside Scarlett Johansson in ads for Dolce & Gabbana’s The One fragrance line, earlier this year he told Women’s Wear Daily why he’ll never be the face of his own clothing label. “I want to be behind this, not in front of it,” explained the actor, who is actively involved in the design process. “I’m the author, not the face or the definition.”
