Gift of the Day: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's award-winning Chateau Miraval rose

Not sure what to get the pop culture geek in your life this holiday season? PopStyle is here to help! From the hottest gadgets to the oddest collectibles, we’re rounding up the best gifts in movies, music, TV, books, and more with our Gift of the Day.

Not only do they create good movies and gorgeous children, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie also make award-winning wine.

This year, Brangelina got into the winemaking business with the release of Jolie-Pitt & Perrin Côtes de Provence Rosé Miraval 2012, made from grapes grown on their estate in Southern France. The bottling ranked No.84 overall on Wine Spectator‘s Top 100 list of the best wines of the year, taking the top spot among rosés.

Considering the fact that I gave Duck Commander’s Triple Threat Red Blend — brought to you by the Robertson family of Duck Dynasty fame — the thumbs up because it’s “drinkable,” I’ll borrow Wine Spectator editor Kim Marcus’ description of the Jolie-Pitt rosé.  READ FULL STORY

Angelina Jolie goes back to black for her return to the red carpet

Angelina Jolie walked the red carpet in support of fiance Brad Pitt at the world premiere of World War Z in London yesterday, making her first public appearance since undergoing a double mastectomy last February.

Asked by one reporter how it felt to be back on the red carpet, Jolie expressed gratitude for the support she has received since revealing the news in a New York Times column last month, but did her best to steer the conversation back to Pitt. “It’s Brad’s night… I’m very excited for Brad and I think  it’s a very fun film. And my boys are around somewhere tonight, so they’re enjoying it,” the actress told Sky News. Asked how Pitt has supported her through her ordeal, Jolie replied: “He’s been extraordinary. He’s a wonderful man and a wonderful father, and I’m very, very lucky.”

Wearing minimal makeup, Jolie looked stunning in a Saint Laurent gown in her signature black — Who could forget the vision of Angelina’s right leg framed by her Atelier Versace gown she wore to last year’s Academy Awards or the Elvira-inspired Versace dress she was wearing when she picked up the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2000?

Angelina Jolie will sell her jewelry line in the US, use profits to build more schools

Angelina Jolie has announced that her luxury jewelry line, the Style of Jolie collection, will soon be available to U.S. consumers. Though no pricing information has been made available, it’s safe to assume that, since the collection includes one-of-a-kind baubles set with Colombian vivid green emeralds and a 186.42-carat pear-shaped citrine drop necklace, we’re not talking Zales dollars.

The good news — if you can afford to invest in a piece of the statement jewelry, you’ll know your money was well spent.  READ FULL STORY

Oscars Fashion: What is the most worn designer label in the last 15 years?

Who are you wearing?”

It may sound like a silly question, but there’s more at stake than just making the best dressed list — or staying off the worst dressed list — at the Academy Awards. The kind of publicity generated by a picture of a high-profile actress in a designer gown is so precious that stories abound of fashion brands offering cash, endorsement deals and other incentives in exchange for a star’s loyalty on Oscar night.

But it’s not likely that we’ll ever hear Ryan Seacrest ask “Why are you wearing that?” so let’s turn our attention back to the who.

In the last 15 years of Oscars red carpets, one designer name has been the answer to the question “Who are you wearing?” more times than any other. Who is it? READ FULL STORY

PopStyle Intervention: Let's put an end to 'The Angelina Effect'

See what you started Angelina?

When Angelina Jolie popped and locked at the 84th Annual Academy Awards, she created a monster.

Thankfully, the Angelina’s right leg memes have played out, but even though a new awards season has begun, stars are still copying the red carpet pose. Come on, leading ladies, we’re getting into eye rolling territory. Only you can make it stop.

Of course thigh-high slits are nothing new, and for that matter, neither is jutting out a leg to highlight a well-toned gam (even Jolie had a less out-there version of the stance in her repertoire before she took things to the next level at the Oscars). I can understand why the women of Hollywood want to show a little — or alot of — leg, what with all hours many of them put in at the gym, but are we really going to have to see this awkward display every time they roll out a red carpet? No leg, right or left, will be as ubiquitous as Angelina’s, so everyone should just stop trying to follow in her footstep.

At the Golden Globes, Eva Longoria and Halle Berry tied for the title of highest slit and most over-the-top leg pose, but they weren’t the only stars that gave me restless leg syndrome.
