Julianne Hough learns (the hard way) that orange is NOT the new blackface
The former Dancing with the Stars cast member sparked outrage when she dressed up as Orange Is the New Black character Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren — complete with blackface makeup — for Halloween. “It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize,” Hough tweeted. It’s not even a very good costume, since Crazy Eyes preferred the khaki-hued prison garb over the orange jumpsuit in season 1.
