Costume designer Colleen Atwood will receive the 2013 Board of Directors’s Tribute Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America at the annual CFDA Fashion Awards, to be held June 3 in New York City.
The award recognizes Atwood, a three-time winner of the Oscar for Best Costume Design (Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha and Alice in Wonderland) for her ”significant contributions and commitment to fashion.” Past winners of the Tribute Award include fashion photographer Arthur Elgort, Bono and wife Ali Hewson, and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
