Jay-Z protegé Rita Ora may be a new voice on the charts, but the British singer pulled a veteran move when she enlisted a well-known fashion designer to create the costumes for her first UK tour.
Ora will wear a range of outfits re-interpreted from Pucci’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection on her Radioactive Tour, which kicked off Manchester, England on Monday.
How exactly did the up-and-comer snag fresh off the runway looks for her big moment? The “Hot Right Now” singer — who counts Gwen Stefani among her biggest fashion influences — and Pucci creative designer Peter Dundas hit it off when they met at Bergdorf Goodman’s 111th anniversary party last October, and their creative partnership began soon after.
“From the moment I met Rita we’ve had a great connection and doing something like this together felt like only a natural progression,” Dundas said in a statement released by Pucci. “The costumes have impact and flamboyance in a way that feels personal to Rita whilst staying true to the Emilio Pucci aesthetic.”
